Could Allan Russell have influenced the outcome of England’s Euro 2020 campaign?
It’s a question that lingers in the air, with an answer we’ll never know after Gareth Southgate’s important strikers coach, who had been with him for four years, was fired just before the tournament began.
Russell’s self-proclaimed “world No. 1 attacking coaching program,” Superior Striker, is full of photos of the Scotsman working with Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane.
“I’m sure the likes of Harry Kane will be appreciative for the job that Allan did, and all of a sudden, he’s been forgotten,” one of Russell’s former managers, Kenny Black, told The Athletic.
Russell was forced to withdraw from England’s Euro 2020 campaign after being involved in a car accident with a family member that resulted in significant injuries to a motorist.
