Olivier Giroud Will Travel To Italy For A Physical Ahead Of His Ac Milan Move According To Chelsea Transfer Reports

On Thursday, Olivier Giroud will fly to Italy for a medical ahead of his move from Chelsea to AC Milan.

The France striker will undergo his physical on Friday morning, according to Sky in Italy, before finalizing his EUR3.5 million (PS3 million) deal.

The 34-year-old is expected to join the Serie A team on a two-year agreement.

Last summer, Giroud signed a new one-year contract with Chelsea, and the club recently exercised an option to extend it for another 12 months.

4:41 With Olivier Giroud on the verge of joining AC Milan from Chelsea, we take a look back at some of his most memorable Premier League goals, including the scorpion kick!

In January 2018, Arsenal sold Giroud to Chelsea for PS18 million, six years after purchasing him for PS10.8 million from Ligue 1 champions Montpellier.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, he has scored 39 goals in 119 appearances, earning three major trophies, including the Champions League victory in May.

Giroud scored two goals in France’s 3-0 friendly win over Bulgaria before Euro 2020. Giroud was part of France’s disastrous Euro 2020 campaign, in which they were knocked out on penalties by Switzerland after a 3-3 extra-time draw.

AC Milan have already bought Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, having exercised their PS25 million option to buy the teenage defender after a successful six-month loan term, and are also interested in Hakim Ziyech and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Last season, the Italian team finished second in Serie A, ensuring their return to the Champions League after a seven-year hiatus.

Chelsea have been advised that signing Borussia Dortmund and Norway attacker Erling Haaland this summer will be “mission impossible,” according to Sky Sports News’ Kaveh Solhekol.

Chelsea are interested in signing Erling Haaland this summer. Chelsea are looking for a No 9 and Haaland is their top target.

Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane are two other choices.

After scoring 48 goals in 51 appearances for club and country last season, Haaland has become one of the most sought-after players in the world.

Under his Dortmund contract, he has a PS70 million release clause that can be exercised next summer.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid have all expressed interest in purchasing him this summer at a premium price.

Dortmund do not want to trade Haaland, according to a source close to the talks, especially because they have already agreed to allow Jadon Sancho join United for PS73 million this month.

“Chelsea is attempting, but it will be extremely difficult,” the person stated.

“At the present, it appears to be a near-impossible mission.”

“It’s doubtful, but it’s not impossible.” Follow the summer transfer window with Sky Sports. You can keep up with all the latest transfer news and speculations in our dedicated Transfer Centre blog on Sky Sports’ digital platforms, as well as on Sky Sports News.
