At The Ted Lasso Season 2 Premiere Jason Sudeikis Showed His Support For Englands Black Soccer Stars

At Ted Lasso’s season 2 premiere in Hollywood on Thursday night, Jason Sudeikis showed his support for England’s Euro 2020 team’s black players.

The 45-year-old actor expressed his support for Marcus Rashford, Jaden Sancho, and Bukayo Saka after the team was humiliated by Italy in the last Euro Championships.

Jason made a statement at the event by wearing a black t-shirt with the last names of the racially-abused celebrities inscribed on it.

At the Ted Lasso season 2 premiere in Hollywood on Thursday, Jason Sudeikis expressed his support for the England soccer team’s black players who faced online hatred following the Euro 2020 final. In Ted Lasso, Sudeikis portrays a small-time American football manage who gets hired to coach a professional soccer team in England despite having no experience with the game.

Last Sunday, England reached their first international championship final since defeating Germany in the 1966 World Cup final.

Despite an early score barely two minutes into the game at Wembley Stadium in London, England lost the Euros 2020 title to Italy on penalties after a 1-1 draw in extra time.

Trolls wrote terrible insults against Rashford, Sancho, and Saka on social media after they missed their penalties in a sickening display of bigotry.

Players Marcus Rashford, Jaden Sancho, and Bukayo Saka (shown with teammate Raheem Sterling, third from left) all missed penalties in the final’s climax and were then attacked with terrible racist abuse on social media. The Prime Minister scolded the CEOs of major social media companies, telling them they needed to act quickly before new rules were introduced that might result in massive fines.

Cyber bullies that hide behind anonymous profiles are frequently the perpetrators of the heinous abuse.

Mr Johnson was anticipated to tell the businesses, which included Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok, that they must pass over the names of anyone who were discovered to have made racist comments so that the police might make an example of them.

It comes as police continue their search for the trolls responsible for horrible accusations sent at the three England players who missed penalties in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final (Marcus Rashford pictured).

Following England’s defeat to Italy, racist remarks filled Rashford, Sancho, and Saka’s social media accounts.

Marcus responded by writing a statement that he released online, in which he stated that he ‘had a terrible season’ but that he ‘will never apologise for who I am or where I come from.’

He also attached letters from children, as he was urged to be ‘proud’ by an 11-year-old boy.

Boris Johnson summoned tech companies to Downing Street on Tuesday, ordering them to ‘raise their game’ in response to racial bullying of England football heroes. The letter, written by a youngster named Alfie, continued: ‘You may have missed your penalty, but you had a fantastic tournament.’

‘I appreciate you, and the rest of the world should, too,’ Marcus said after well-wishers covered graffiti scrawled on his Manchester artwork with kind letters.

He apologized in an impassioned open letter to England fans for missing the penalty shootout.

After yesterday’s tragic Euro 2020 final, the striker thanked his loyal teammates and promised to ‘come back stronger.’

Marcus wrote a message after the final, stating he’had a rough season’ but ‘would never apologise for who I am or where I come from.’ Nevertheless, the star saved a special thank you for those who helped restore his mural on the wall of the Coffee House Cafe in his hometown of Withington.

The painted figure was damaged with insulting comments about Marcus, including the words’sh**e’ and ‘b*****d,’ in what police are investigating as a suspected ‘hate crime.’

‘F**k Sancho,’ wrote another piece of graffiti, referring to his Three Lions teammate.

Marcus’ followers, on the other hand, rushed to the site to swiftly cover the hateful words with hearts.

‘The responses I’ve received have been wonderfully astounding, and seeing the response in Withington had me on the edge of tears,’ the star added in an open letter uploaded on his Twitter account.

‘The communities who have always wrapped their arms around me continue to hold me up,’ Marcus said of those who stepped in to rebuild his painting on the wall of the Coffee House Cafe in his hometown of Withington after it was vandalized.

I’m a black man from Withington and Wythenshawe in South Manchester, and I’m 23 years old.

If I have nothing else, I have that.’ Earlier in the open letter, he expressed regret for missing a penalty against Italy, adding, “I felt like I’d let everyone down.”

‘It’s been repeating over and over in my head since, and I’m not sure there’s a phrase to express how it feels,’ he said.

All I can say is that I’m sorry.

I wish things had gone differently.’ The striker also praised his teammates, calling it the ‘best camp I’ve ever experienced’ and describing it as an ‘unbreakable brotherhood.’

Marcus was ‘near to tears’ as well-wishers covered graffiti sprayed on his Manchester mural with letters of support in the aftermath of his Euro 2020 penalty heartbreak. He also addressed the criticism he had received, claiming he would ‘never apologise’ for being himself, before concluding on a positive one by vowing to bounce back, saying: ‘For all the lovely messages, thank you.’

I’ll be better next time.

The damage of the Rashford mural was described by Greater Manchester Police as a ‘racially aggravated’ act of vandalism.

GMP issued a statement condemning the ‘racially aggravated’ and ‘disgraceful’ damage, saying: ‘Hate crime in any form is utterly unacceptable and not wanted here in our city.’

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is still underway.

‘This is deplorable behavior and will not be accepted,’ said Marcus Chief Superintendent Paul Savill, who painted love hearts and words on the plastic that covers unpleasant graffiti on the vandalized painting.

Hate crime in any form is utterly unacceptable and unwelcome in Greater Manchester, which prides itself on being made up of a varied range of communities.

‘GMP takes such offences very seriously, and an inquiry has been opened.’

Please do not hesitate to contact police if you have any information that could assist us in identifying this perpetrator.’ The artwork was done by Akse, a French-born graffiti artist, in November 2020.

‘Take satisfaction in knowing that your suffering will play the most important role in your purpose,’ says a painting of Marcus.

Jason’s first public appearance after revealing about his breakup with longtime girlfriend Olivia Wilde, with whom he shares two young children, was at the Ted Lasso premiere.

The couple, who had a seven-year-old boy named Otis and a four-year-old daughter named Daisy Josephine, divorced last October after a seven-year engagement.

Wilde, an actress and filmmaker, has since been linked to Harry Styles in a high-profile relationship.

In an interview with GQ magazine for the August issue, the SNL star said it will take some time for him to come to terms with the loss of his relationship with Wilde.

‘I’ll have a better grasp of why in a year, and an even better one in two, and an even better one in five,’ he said, ‘and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle.’
