Barcelona Is Expected To Renegotiate A Contract Extension With The 18 Year Old Sensation According To Reports

Barcelona wants to reopen contract discussions with midfielder Ilaix Moriba, according to reports.

Due to his refusal to sign a new contract with the club, the kid was left out of the Blaugrana’s pre-season squad.

Barcelona, according to Barcablagranes, has been caught aback by the player’s demands and has found dealing with his representatives difficult.

The Catalan giants, on the other hand, are hesitant to let the teenager go this summer and are eager to extend his contract.

Ilaix Moriba was promoted to Barcelona B in 2019 after nine years with the prestigious La Masia academy.

In his first season with the team, he made eight appearances in the Segunda B Division.

During the first half of the season, the midfielder made 11 appearances for the side before Ronald Koeman promoted him to the senior squad.

Last season, the 18-year-old swiftly established himself as a major member of Barcelona’s first team, making 18 appearances in all competitions and scoring one goal.

A number of Europe’s leading teams have taken notice of his performances with the Spanish giants.

Due to the club’s dire financial circumstances, Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently disclosed that the bulk of their players have been placed on transfer lists this summer.

Ronald Koeman, on the other hand, is keen to keep hold of young players like Ilaix Moriba, Pedri, and Ansu Fati, believing that they are the club’s future.

Manchester United has expressed interest in Moriba.

In the following weeks, the Red Devils will put Barcelona to the test by submitting a PS20 million bid for the player.

The Spaniard’s contract situation has worsened, and his summer demotion to Barcelona B has raised the likelihood of his departure from Camp Nou.

Real Madrid is keeping an eye on the Ilaix Moriba scenario, according to Barcelona.

Last season, the youth was given numerous opportunities to prove his value and demonstrate his abilities.

Barcelona’s current roster includes Alejandro Balde (17), Ilaix Moriba (18), Yusuf Demir (18), Ansu Fati (18), and Pedri (18). It’s as if they’re storing up on wonderkids.

Going to a new club would require him to demonstrate that he is capable of playing at the highest level once more.
