Jesse Lingard A Manchester United Midfielder Is A Target For Atletico Madrid

If Manchester United decides to let Jesse Lingard leave this summer, Atletico Madrid is ready to get into the race to sign him.

Despite questions over his future, the 28-year-old has returned to Old Trafford for pre-season training.

According to 90min, LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid have indicated interest.

Jesse Lingard has returned to Manchester United for pre-season training. West Ham are still interested in signing Lingard, who is looking for regular playing time.

With only a year left on his present deal, Lingard is set to meet with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United is willing to offer Lingard a new contract at PS130,000 per week, with West Ham unable to reach the PS25 million asking price.

Furthermore, if Lingard signs the contract, United will have the option to extend his contract for another year.

Lingard struck the eye on loan at West Ham in the second part of last season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 16 games. West Ham want to sign Lingard permanently, but are unlikely to meet his PS25 million valuation.

Lingard, a product of United’s academy, has appeared in 210 games for the club, scoring 33 goals.

The 28-year-old has fallen out of favor at United, but he could potentially be poised for a longer spell as he attempts to reclaim his spot in the England squad.

Lingard was chosen in Gareth Southgate’s tentative 33-man team for Euro 2020, however he did not make the final 26-player roster.
