Arsenal Is Expected To Lose The Hunt For Manuel Locatelli Italys Euro 2020 Winner To Juventus

Arsenal’s chances of landing key target Manuel Locatelli are dwindling after Juventus’ first bid was turned down by the midfielder’s Serie A club Sassuolo.
After starring in Italy’s championship-winning Euro 2020 campaign, Locatelli has piqued the interest of numerous top-flight clubs.
Locatelli scored two goals in five games at the tournament, although he had a low point when he missed his penalty in the semi-final shootout triumph over Spain.
Mikel Arteta has highlighted Manuel Locatelli as a significant target for Arsenal, although the midfielder is thought to prefer Juve. The Gunners and the Old Lady have emerged as the front-runners for Locatelli’s signature.
Juventus is said to have offered Sassuolo an initial loan contract with the option to buy the 23-year-old for EUR30 million (PS25 million), but the offer was turned down.
Sassuolo, on the other hand, is in talks with Juve, who are thought to be the player’s first option.
Arsenal is rumoured to have made a counter-offer around EUR45 million (PS38.5 million), but Locatelli has previously stated that joining Juventus is his first choice.
‘Up until now, I haven’t really thought of it, I couldn’t think about it,’ Locatelli told Sky Sport Italia about his future after Euro 2020.
The Sassuolo midfielder confessed it is ‘pleasant’ to be wanted by Juventus and that he is in talks with them. ‘The interest of Juventus is pleasing, they are a wonderful team, and I have said it countless times,’ he said.
Talks between the two Italian clubs are still ongoing.
If Arsenal are unable to sign Locatelli, they may turn to other targets such as Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and Brighton’s Yves Bissouma.
