A Racist Statement Was Scrawled On A Mural Honoring Bukayo Saka Marcus Rashford And Jadon Sancho

A racist statement has been scrawled over a mural honoring England trio Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka.
Following last Sunday’s Euro 2020 Final, where the three were racially abused for missing penalties against Italy, the Darlington mural was created.
The red and white graphic features the three players’ shirt numbers – 25, 17, and 11 – but the words “we do not stand with the 3 Black Lions” have been scribbled on it.
“Overnight a cowardly racist has decided to spew hate,” the local Stand Up Against Racism group tweeted on Saturday.
“We are the majority, and cowardly racists are not welcome,” a spokeswoman for Durham Constabulary said. “Officers are investigating following complaints of damage to the Arthur Wharton mural, in Darlington.”
“Enquiries are ongoing.” On Saturday, the racist inscription was promptly painted over.
The damage came less than a week after an existing mural of Rashford in Manchester was damaged just hours after the penalty shootout loss.
