Everton Are Close To Completing The Free Transfer Of Bournemouth Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic

Everton are close to signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a free transfer.
After being granted permission to speak to the Goodison club on Saturday, the 34-year-old completed a physical and will provide cover for Jordan Pickford.
Begovic, who appeared 51 times for the Cherries in all competitions last season and was selected to the EFL Championship Team of the Year, will sign a one-year contract with a one-year extension option.
Everton are close to acquiring Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic on a free transfer. If completed, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international will offer backup for Jordan Pickford. Everton were without an experienced backup goalkeeper after Robin Olsen returned to Roma this summer after a loan spell and former Huddersfield player Jonas Lossl left for Midtjylland in February.
Joao Virginia, 21, and Harry Tyrer, 19, were regarded to be unsuited to give cover in the Premier League at the moment.
Begovic, a Bosnia and Herzegovina international, joined Chelsea following a good career at Stoke City, but left after two seasons to join Bournemouth.
