After Winning The British Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton Receives Racial Abuse Online

After winning the British Grand Prix on Sunday, Lewis Hamilton received racial abuse online.
Following a first-lap collision with Max Verstappen that resulted in the latter being rushed to hospital, Hamilton was given a ten-second time penalty.
Verstappen slammed into the tyre wall at 140 mph after being hit by Hamilton.
Lewis Hamilton suffered racist internet abuse after winning the British Grand Prix for the eighth time. Hamilton was abused after colliding with Max Vestappen in the first lap. Despite the incident, Hamilton replied by winning the British Grand Prix for the eighth time.
Following the race, Hamilton received monkey emoticons in his Instagram messages.
‘I was his admirer before this race!’ remarked one user.
It’s terrible.
‘Sir Lewis Hamilton,’ he said before adding a gorilla emoji to his post.
Racist insults were sent towards Hamilton on Instagram, with one user using a gorilla emoji and another using monkey emojis. The abuse aimed at Hamilton came after England internationals Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford received racist messages online after missing penalties in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
Hamilton was the first recipient of the Laureus Athlete Advocate of the Year award earlier this year for his work in the anti-racism movement.
Hamilton has spoken out against racism and campaigned for greater diversity in Formula One. The 36-year-old has spoken out against racism and advocated for more diversity in Formula One.
Last year, Hamilton and the Royal Academy of Engineering formed the Hamilton Commission, which aims to increase the number of young people from African-American backgrounds working in racing and other engineering fields.
