As The Sancho Announcement Approaches Lingard Is In Uniteds Plans Solskjaer

What’s been said so far?
“Jesse has come back, been bright, and he wants to battle for his spot, and there’s nothing better than players wanting to fight for their place,” Solskjaer said.
“What he accomplished at the end of last season was genuine Jesse; that’s what we know he’s capable of, and I think we saw towards the end that we needed certain choices at times.”
Jesse is currently in the plans.” What occurred in the game? United went ahead 2-0 thanks to goals from Tahith Chong and Facundo Pellistri, but Colin Kazim-Richards pulled a goal back for Wayne Rooney’s side.
Lingard performed admirably in the game, impressing with his deft touches and pleasant demeanor.
He came close to adding to United’s goal count, cutting inside onto his right foot and curling the ball, but the woodwork stopped him.
What was Lingard’s performance like last season?
Lingard joined West Ham on loan in January after failing to make an appearance for United in the Premier League during the first half of the season.
He made an immediate impact under David Moyes, scoring a brace in West Ham’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in his debut.
Lingard continued to impress for his loan club, scoring nine goals and assisting five more as they clinched a Europa League berth for next season.
Lingard was recalled to the England roster after his outstanding performances, although he was not included in Gareth Southgate’s final Euro 2020 squad of 26 players.
What’s new with Sancho?
At the start of the month, United announced that they had reached an deal with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.
The EUR85 million (PS72.6 million) deal is subject to medical and contract approval and is expected to close after the European Championship.
“From what I gather, it’s merely paperwork (delaying the deal), minor little stuff,” Solskjaer said, “hopefully we can announce something.” What about Rashford?
Marcus Rashford would have surgery on a long-standing shoulder problem, according to The Athletic, which will likely keep him out for the first two months of the 2021-22 season.
Rashford, who had been playing despite the agony with painkilling injections, has chosen to get surgery as soon as possible to avoid the problem becoming debilitating over the next year.
On Sunday, Solskjaer stated, “We’re looking at the best choices.”
“He (Rashford) walked away for a while to think about it.”
“We have to decide what is best for him and the club.”
