Manchester City Are Desperate To Sign Riyad Mahrez To A New Deal According To Reports

Manchester City are expected to extend Riyad Mahrez’s contract after the winger helped the team win the Premier League last season.
Mahrez’s contract is set to end in 2023, and the Algerian is said to be attracting interest from elite teams around Europe, as well as a number of other City players.
But, the 30-year-old’s words earlier this week reaffirmed his intention to staying in Manchester, which will help Pep Guardiola’s ambitions.
After committing to the club, Manchester City are expected to offer Riyad Mahrez a new deal. Mahrez’s current contract expires in 2023.
‘What if I want to go higher?’ he said after being a key member of City’s title-winning team last season.
‘I don’t see anything higher (than Manchester City),’ Mahrez stated on the Oui Hustle YouTube channel.
‘Would you like to compete in another championship (anywhere else)?
I adore England, and English football is fantastic.
I don’t want to go anywhere.
I still have objectives to achieve here.
‘It’s flattering to see Guardiola wants you.’
‘Our connection today, everyone knows (it is good),’ Mahrez said of his relationship with Pep Guardiola, who made him a first-team regular after signing from Leicester for PS45 million in 2018. Mahrez had his greatest season for City since joining from Leicester for PS45 million in 2018.
He scored 14 goals and added nine assists in 48 games across all competitions, including 27 in the Premier League.
With numerous key members of the squad having competed in either the Euros or the Copa America, Mahrez, who has had a long break over the summer, might be incredibly valuable to Guardiola at the start of the new season.
Last month, the Algerian was photographed partying on the Greek island of Mykonos with Borussia Dortmund striker and City target Erling Haaland.
