Manchester Uniteds Jesse Lingard Is In Ole Gunnar Solskjaers Plans

Jesse Lingard is in Manchester United’s plans for next season, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Before heading out on loan to West Ham in January, the 28-year-old midfielder made just three appearances in the first half of the 2020-21 season.
And Lingard excelled at the London Stadium, scoring nine goals in 16 appearances, a remarkable run of form that earned him a place in Gareth Southgate’s tentative Euro 2020 squad.
After an great season with West Ham, his future at United has been put into question, but Solskjaer believes he has a place in the team.
“Jesse has come back, been bright, and he wants to battle for his spot, and there’s nothing better than watching players want to fight for their place,” United manager Jose Mourinho said.
“What he performed towards the end of last season, that’s the true Jesse, that’s what we know he’s capable of, and I think we saw towards the end that we lacked some options at times, and Jesse is in the plans at the moment, sure,” United manager Jose Mourinho said. Lingard played 45 minutes in United’s 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Derby County on Sunday.
Solskjaer also gave new goalie Tom Heaton, who joined the team this summer, his first outing for the club.
“Tom seemed extremely upbeat,” the Norwegian continued.
“He’s also here to provide a challenge for the others.”
He’s been so professional throughout his career, and I was towards the end of mine when he came up.
I’m overjoyed that we have him.
“Tom wants to play,” says the narrator.
He was unlucky with his injury last season, and I believe he would have made the England squad if it hadn’t been for it.
He’s a man with ambitions.”
