Manchester City Are Interested In Signing Nuno Mendes A Potential Star But Are Concerned About The Ps43 Million Price Tag

Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Nuno Mendes this summer, but Sporting Lisbon’s PS43 million asking price has put them off.
The 19-year-old full defender has made an impression for the Portuguese champions, generating interest from a number of European teams after his performances in 38 games in the Portuguese top division.
Sporting’s move for Wolves left back Ruben Vinagre has seen the 19-year-old touted for a summer exit amid strong ties with City. Mendes’ future has been in the air for some time, and Sporting’s move for Wolves left back Ruben Vinagre has seen the 19-year-old rumoured for a summer exit amid strong links with City.
Man City are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon’s’star of the future’ Nuno Mendes, according to Fabrizio Romano. Mendes is regarded as a ‘top left defender for the future’ by the Premier League champions.
The Manchester club, on the other hand, has no intention of achieving Sporting’s PS43 million value of Mendes and is instead looking for a deal for approximately PS25 million.
Under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, City have spent a combined PS133 million on Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy, and Joao Cancelo, all full backs.
After impressing in Portugal, the 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Europe’s elite clubs. Nevertheless, City are said to have turned down Sporting’s PS43 million offer. City’s mega-money pursuits of Harry Kane and Jack Grealish – both valued at over PS100 million by Tottenham and Aston Villa respectively – means they are unlikely to spend significant money on a full back this summer.
Mendes was called up by Fernando Santos for Euro 2020 after a stellar season with Sporting, despite playing understudy to Raphael Guerreiro for the majority of Portugal’s journey.
Guardiola’s champions are yet to make any summer acquisitions, with pre-season training starting this week.
