The Norwegian Beach Handball Team Was Fined Ps1295 For Competing With European Championships In Shorts Rather Than Bikinis

The Norwegian beach handball team was fined PS1,295 for competing in the European Beach Handball Championships in shorts rather than bikini bottoms.
The sanction was levied by the European Handball Federation (EHF) due to a instance of “improper clothes.”
During a bronze medal match versus Spain in Varna, Bulgaria, Norway’s players wore shorts instead of bikini bottoms.
The Norwegian Handball Federation (NHF) has already announced that if their players were penalised, they would pay.
A disciplinary commission had levied a fine of “150 euros each player, for a total of 1,500 euros,” according to an EHF statement.
It went on to say that Norway had worn shorts that were “not in accordance with the athlete uniform regulations stipulated in the IHF [International Handball Federation] beach handball rules of the game.” NHF president Kare Geir Lio told AFP that any penalty would be paid, but that “it should be a free decision within a regulated framework.”
