After Injuring His Ribs At The Euros Luke Shaw Is Hopeful Of Being Fit For The New Season

Luke Shaw is optimistic that his broken ribs will heal in time for Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Leeds.
The left-back was injured during England’s Euro 2020 campaign, but he continued to play as Gareth Southgate’s side advanced to the final, where Shaw scored the opening goal before Robert Mancini’s side won a penalty shootout.
Shaw also contributed three assists at Euro 2020, making him one of the tournament’s top performers.
The 26-year-old, who is taking a break after the tournament, is unsure whether he will be available for Leeds’ visit on August 14th, though he is optimistic.
If not, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has Alex Telles and Brandon Williams lined up as backups, with the United manager also keen in signing Kieran Trippier of Atletico Madrid, who can play in either full-back position.
