After Juventus Turned Rejected Federico Chiesas Approach Chelsea Enquired About Domenico Berardi

According to sources in Italy, Chelsea has inquired about signing Sassuolo and Italy forward Domenico Berardi.
The 26-year-old made an impression for his country at Euro 2020, registering two assists in the group stages on his route to helping the Azzurri win the tournament on penalties after defeating England in the final.
After his first-team debut in 2012, the attacker has spent his whole club career with Sassuolo, having notoriously turned down a move to Juventus despite being co-owned by the Serie A giants between 2013 and 2015.
According to reports in Italy, Chelsea have inquired about signing Sassuolo and Italy attacker Domenico Berardi. The 26-year-old impressed for Roberto Mancini’s side at Euro 2020, helping them reach the final. Nevertheless, Sportitalia claims that the Blues have inquired about Berardi’s availability, with Borussia Dortmund and West Ham also interested.
According to reports last week, Chelsea’s PS85 million bid for Federico Chiesa was unsuccessful, with Juventus refusing to hold talks over the winger they had only signed last summer.
Nevertheless, according to recent sources from Italy, the Champions League winners have now turned their attention to Chiesa’s international teammate Berardi, who has two years left on his Sassuolo contract.
After having a bid for Federico Chiesa (front, right) rejected by Juventus, Chelsea have apparently shifted their focus to Berardi (front, left). Berardi scored 17 goals and provided eight assists in 30 Serie A games for Sassuolo last season.
AC Milan, Lazio, and Fiorentina have all expressed interest in signing Berardi, although rumors say he is more likely to leave his homeland this summer.
Chelsea’s search for a new wide forward comes amid rumors that Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to stay at the club despite Bayern Munich’s increased interest.
Bayern Munich have been long-time admirers of the England international and had wanted to build a deal around a swap for Kingsley Coman, but his desire to stay and battle for his place has dealt a big blow to Bayern.
