Everton Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic Has Joined The Club From Bournemouth

Everton have finalized the one-year loan signing of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Bournemouth.
The 34-year-old joins Everton for an undisclosed price from Bournemouth in the Championship, becoming the club’s second summer signing after Andros Townsend.
The former Stoke and Chelsea goalkeeper has agreed to a 12-month deal with the club, with an option to extend it for another year.
“I was ecstatic when I initially heard about the potential of joining Everton,” Begovic told evertontv.
“Opportunities like this don’t come along very often, so I’m grateful to be here.”
“The goal is to return this club to its rightful place.”
We want to be contending for European slots, trophies, and being in the top echelon of the league,” Begovic said. Begovic will offer back-up for England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who starts the Premier League season full of confidence after a strong showing at the European Championships.

I’m looking forward to getting started and representing this incredible football team.

“I think this goalkeeping squad is fantastic.”
“Every single day, we’re going to push each other and set those training standards.”
“I’m absolutely here to compete (for a spot) and to try to help this squad in any way I can,” Begovic said. Begovic has 252 Premier League appearances between Portsmouth, Stoke, Chelsea, and Bournemouth.
He spent the 2019-20 season on loan with AC Milan before returning to Bournemouth last season, when he made 51 appearances in the club’s play-off run.
