Demarai Gray Joins Everton For Ps1 7 Million After A Six Month Loan Spell With Bayer Leverkusen

Everton has signed Demarai Gray from Bayer Leverkusen for EUR2 million (PS1.7 million), bringing his time in the Bundesliga to an end.
Gray arrived in Florida on Thursday for a medical, where Everton is holding a pre-season training camp.
After the Toffees matched a release clause in his Leverkusen contract, the 25-year-old winger has signed a three-year deal with them, with the option to extend it for another year.
Gray told evertontv that new Toffees manager Rafa Benitez was a major factor in his choice to join the club, saying: “I’m thrilled to be back in the Premier League at such a big club, and I’m anxious to play with the team and get to work.”
“After speaking with the manager and [director of football] Marcel Brands, I had a great sense of the club and believe this is a location where I can continue to grow.”
“We’ll want to push forward and fight with the top clubs, and the manager, with his ambition and what he’s won in the past, is vital.”
I believe that a club of this size has the potential to be right up there.
Gray is Everton boss Rafa Benitez’s third acquisition. “Everton are a very large club, and the key objective is to be pushing and competing back up there in the league,” says Benitez.
Gray only joined Leverkusen in January after a five-year stay with Leicester City, and he only made 12 appearances for the team, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
At Everton, the former England U21 international, who won the Premier League with Leicester City in 2016, will wear the No 11 shirt.
“I want to push on, be a key member in the squad, and help the team score goals and assist goals,” Gray continued.
I believe I’ve reached a point in my career where I can bring everything together and meet the goals I’ve set for myself.
“With the quality I know I have and the belief in myself, I can help this team,” Gray said. Gray will now join the Everton squad in Orlando for pre-season training ahead of a pre-season friendly against Millonarios on Sunday night.
After the arrivals of Asmir Begovic and Andros Townsend, he is Benitez’s third signing since taking over from Carlo Ancelotti.
