At Manchester United Dietmar Hamann Believes Jadon Sancho Can Galvanise Marcus Rashford And Paul Pogba

New Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho has been lauded by Dietmar Hamann as “the best winger in the world” who can “galvanise” teammates Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba to greatness.
The long-running controversy surrounding Sancho’s PS73 million move to Old Trafford came to a close this week when he was eventually presented as the Red Devils’ new number 25.
For several years, Sancho has lit up the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund, and Hamann feels he might be the difference in United’s Premier League title push this season.
‘I anticipate Jadon Sancho to be a star at Old Trafford,’ Dietmar Hamann said of Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho. Sancho can ‘galvanise’ Marcus Rashford (left) and Paul Pogba (right), according to Hamann. ‘It’s a crucial season for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United, too, and I expect Jadon Sancho to be a star at Old Trafford,’
‘I’ve rarely seen a winger who can beat his man so simply; he drops the shoulder and just glides past defenders.’ Sancho has long been a key goal for Solskjaer, and his arrival has highlighted the vast amount of offensive quality United currently has on offer.
Sancho’s major qualities, according to Hamann, are improving and generating opportunities for his teammates, and he expects the former Manchester City junior player to do the same at Old Trafford.
Sancho’s acquisition means it will be a ‘huge season’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to Hamann (left). ‘Sancho may galvanise the likes of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba at United too,’ he said.
‘From what I’ve seen of him in the Bundesliga, he improves other players by creating chances and pulling defenders out of position, and we saw hints of that in England’s quarter-final triumph over Ukraine at Euro 2020.’
Throughout his four years in Germany, the 21-year-old dominated the Bundesliga, assisting on 89 goals in 104 games for Borussia Dortmund.
Many Germans, including Hamann, were confused that he was not a first-team regular for Gareth Southgate’s England at Euro 2020.
If Hamann had been England manager at Euro 2020, Sancho would have been his first option. ‘I was astonished that he was on the fringe of that tournament, he would be my first choice as a manager,’ he said.
‘In my opinion, Sancho is not just England’s finest winger, but also the best winger in the world, and United fans should be very happy about his return to Manchester.’ Nevertheless, Sancho’s prospects of playing with Pogba may be finished before they begin, as the Frenchman is set to be the subject of a PS43 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain.
