Celtic Are Interested In Signing Man City Defender Yan Couto

Celtic are interested in signing Yan Couto, a right-back for Manchester City.
The Hoops are hoping to sign the 19-year-old Brazilian on a season-long loan, although he will face competition from clubs in Portugal.
Couto, who represented Brazil at the U17 World Cup in 2019, spent last season on loan at Girona of La Liga 2, where he appeared four times in the Copa del Rey and 22 times in the Segunda Division.
He joined Manchester City from Coritiba in Brazil last summer and has a deal at the Etihad Stadium until 2025.
Meanwhile, Celtic has signed Vissel Kobe winger Kyogo Furuhashi from Japan.
After Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide from Sheffield Wednesday, Liel Abada from Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva, and Carl Starfelt from Rubin Kazan, he is Ange Postecoglou’s fifth summer signing.
In a PS13.5 million transfer, Kristoffer Ajer has left Celtic Park to join Premier League newcomers Brentford.
Ange Postecoglou, the new Celtic manager, says that delays in the club’s recruitment process caused by the coronavirus have disappointed him.
The Aussie arrived at the club in the summer with the goal of reclaiming the Scottish Premiership from Old Firm rivals Rangers.
However, with just over a week till the start of the new season, the new manager’s efforts to rebuild the squad have been impeded by progress in the transfer market.
0:37 Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou says he anticipates more fresh signings in the coming weeks. “It’s probably the one area we’re chipping away at but not seeing the tangible effects,” Postecoglou said.
“Of course, we’ve signed Liel Abada, who made a spectacular debut, as well as Carl Starfelt and Kyogo Furuhashi, but they’re both unavailable right now due to the challenges of the world we live in.”
“That’s the frustrating part – it would have been fantastic to have those two boys in already and the other ones we’re working on finished a little quicker.” New managers, new signings, new dreams, and high expectations abound among fans of all 12 Scottish Premiership clubs ahead of the new season.
