Ben White An Arsenal Target Needs To Learn His Position According To Sol Campbell

Arsenal are taking a risk by paying PS50 million on Brighton defender Ben White, according to Sol Campbell.
After accepting personal terms, White is set to have a medical at Arsenal on Wednesday, but former Gunners defender Campbell is concerned that the club may be overpaying for the 23-year-old.
‘At PS50 million, he needs to be a master of his position, and that’s exactly what he has to be,’ Campbell told Talksport.
Ben White is expected to have a medical with Arsenal this week ahead of a PS50 million move from Brighton. Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell believes the club is taking a risk by paying such a hefty sum.
If it happens, he’ll have to start if the medicals are all clear and get going.’ White was one of Brighton’s most consistent performances last season, starting 36 Premier League games and missing only two.
He also enjoyed a fantastic season on loan at Leeds United the year before, appearing in every game as Marcelo Bielsa’s side earned promotion.
White’s progress earned him a spot in England’s Euro 2020 squad, despite the fact that he did not play a single minute in Gareth Southgate’s side’s run to the final.
‘He’s 23 years old, clearly one for the future,’ Campbell said of the England international. Nevertheless, Campbell, who completed one of the most divisive transfers in Premier League history when he joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Tottenham when his contract expired, is concerned White is still a work in progress.
‘He’s made 36 appearances for Brighton.’
Is this a project for the future?
He’s 23 years old and has a bright future ahead of him,’ Campbell noted.
‘I don’t think you can ever know too much about someone,’ says the author.
In the sense that you are aware of your age.
‘It’s a difficult one; it’s a large sum of money, but they see a future in the years ahead.’
They’re looking for someone who can play fullback and midfield.’
