During Negotiations For A New Contract Barcelona Talent Ilaix Moriba Is Subjected To Terrible Racist Insults

After receiving cruel comments on social media, Barcelona prodigy Ilaix Moriba has become the latest footballer to be harassed by bigots online.
As he continues to negotiate a new deal with the Catalan club, the 18-year-old took to TikTok to highlight various nasty words written to him.
Moriba’s future at the Nou Camp is uncertain, and some sources have linked him with Barcelona’s opponents, despite the fact that the midfielder is in the final year of his contract.
Ilaix Moriba, a Barcelona sensation, used TikTok to highlight how he had been racially attacked online. But, while his future is still up in the air, a number of unnamed ‘fans’ privately messaged Moriba to spew nasty vitriol, while others disgustingly sent him monkey emojis.
Moriba was seen sitting in a chair, staring at his phone, in his TikTok video, with the tagline ‘Checking social media.’
As the video progresses, a series of screenshots show the messages that have been delivered to Moriba, before he looks perplexed at the camera and says, “en serio?”
‘, which means ‘are you serious?’
In English, ‘
Barcelona extended their support for the boy by retweeting his video with the caption: ‘We love football.’
We oppose racism.’ The 18-year-old becomes the latest black footballer to be targeted by vile trolls on social media. It comes weeks after England trio Jadon Sancho (left), Jadon Sancho (centre), and Bukayo Saka (right) were all racially harassed for missing penalties in the Euro 2020 final.
Four people were arrested as a result of those statements, but it hasn’t stopped people from attacking Moriba all over Europe.
Last season, Moriba had a breakout season with Barcelona, making 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and assisting three times.
He is one of the club’s most popular players.
Notwithstanding the difficulties they have had so far in reaching a new deal with Moriba’s agents, the Catalan side is desperate to lock him down to new terms in order to alleviate their financial issues.
Moriba made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2020-21, scoring once in 18 appearances. There have been claims that Moriba’s pay demands are high, but Barcelona is keen to prevent a situation where he may talk a pre-contract agreement with non-Spanish clubs as early as January 2022.
Moriba, who joined Barcelona’s academy at the age of seven, has a PS86 million buy-out clause and has progressed through the levels at the club.
The player has been connected with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
