Psg Is Interested In Pogba But Any Deal With Manchester United Would Be Difficult And May Take A Year

The Athletic knows that Paris Saint-Germain are keeping an eye on Paul Pogba’s situation at Manchester United, as the midfielder continues in a contract dispute with the Premier League club — but any potential trade is loaded with issues. The Athletic hears that PSG have begun preliminary talks to measure the player’s interest in a move, but are unclear about whether to buy the player from United.
Pogbas current deal at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2022, meaning he may officially speak to foreign clubs in January with a view to a free move.
Last week, the Daily Mirror reported that Pogba had turned down a contract offer from United.
Although it should be noted that clubs do not normally publish a running commentary on contractual developments, the players’ entourage and United have not responded to those ideas.
Pogba, 28, won the World Cup in 2018 and was one of France’s top performers at Euro 2020 this summer. The Athletic has learned that Pogba’s family is meeting this week to discuss the player’s next moves, and that PSG is making efforts to persuade people around him that he should return to France and form part of the national team.
Those who know Pogba well, on the other hand, believe he will make the final decision.
