Harry Kane Is Eligible To Face Manchester City According To Tottenham Manager Nuno Espirito Santo

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that striker Harry Kane will be eligible for Sunday’s Premier League season opener against Manchester City.
Kane, who wants to leave Tottenham this summer, returned to Hotspur Way on Saturday amid uncertainty about his future at the club and is quarantining at The Lodge, the club’s training ground hotel, until Thursday.
Nuno stated that he will meet with Kane later on Monday for “socially distant” talks. Kane has denied refusing to show up for training last week, maintaining that his Saturday return was “arranged.”
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City Sunday, August 15th, 4:00 p.m. Kick-off 4:30 p.m. City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed his interest in Kane, raising the stakes ahead of the Premier League champions’ opening weekend visit to Spurs.
“All the players in the group that work on a daily basis will be alternatives for us,” Nuno said when asked about Kane’s availability for the match. “Then it’s up to us to decide.” Nuno refused to criticize Kane over the timing of his return to training, preferring to focus on trying to “fix” the matter.
On Saturday, Kane returned to Tottenham’s training field. “First and foremost, we have to speak,” Nuno remarked.
“This will happen today, and we hope to resolve all of the issues after that.”
“It’s not about that (Kane’s late return), it’s about what we need to do to get the issue under control – this is critical.”
“We have to solve it together, everybody involved needs to solve it together – speaking, having a pleasant dialogue, putting our thoughts forward, but everybody together,” Kane said. Kane signed a six-year contract with Tottenham in 2018, but the club’s failure to win and frequently challenge for major trophies has prompted him to seek an exit.
Manchester City purchased Jack Grealish for a British record PS100 million last week, and they are still interested in Kane, having made an opening offer of the same amount in June, which was turned down.
Pep Guardiola, City’s manager, said on Friday that it is up to Tottenham, who do not want to move their top player, to negotiate over Kane.
“He (Kane) is a Tottenham Hotspur player, and if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, it’s over,” Guardiola added.

“I believe Man City and many other clubs across the world are interested in signing him, and we are no exception, but it all relies on Tottenham.”
“It’s not like Jack’s.”
He had the [clause] of release, and Jack is unique.
“Harry is fantastic, and we are interested in him, but if Tottenham refuse to discuss, nothing more can be said.” Kane, who is valued at around PS120 million, restated his intention to leave earlier this summer in quest of major trophies, and feels he has a gentleman’s agreement with chairman Daniel Levy to leave Spurs this transfer window.
In May, Levy stated that he will act in the best interests of the club when it comes to Kane’s future, implying that a deal for the attacker, who has three years left on his current contract, could be difficult to come by.
