Man City Defender John Stones Has Signed A New Five Year Contract With The Premier League Champions

John Stones has re-signed with Manchester City on a lucrative new deal.
On Tuesday, the England centre-back signed a new five-year contract with the Premier League winners, which would keep him at the club until the summer of 2026.
Stones has made 168 appearances for City since moving from Premier League rivals Everton in August 2016 for PS47.5 million, making him the world’s second most expensive defender at the time.
When he first arrived at the Etihad Stadium, the 27-year-old former Barnsley prodigy signed a six-year contract, which was set to expire next summer.
Stones, who has 49 senior England matches and has been in every game en route to the Euro 2020 final, has won a slew of major trophies at City, including three Premier League crowns, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Community Shield, as well as finishing runner-up in the Champions League last season.
He overcame a rocky start to the 2020/21 season to reclaim his starting spot under Pep Guardiola.
Stones told City’s official website after signing his new contract, “I couldn’t be happier.”
“I enjoy being a member of this group.”
There are so many talented players here, and I am confident that we can continue to win trophies, which is my primary goal.
“Working with the manager has been a dream come true; he has taught me so much about the game, and I feel like I learn something new every day.”
“We’ve enjoyed amazing success over the previous four years.”
It’s been a dream come true to be a part of it, and all I want to do now is keep winning.
