Manchester Uniteds Pursuit Of Atletico Madrid Right Back Kieran Trippier Has Come To An End

According to rumours, Manchester United’s interest in Atletico Madrid right back Kieran Trippier has cooled this summer.
Trippier, 30, was seen as the ideal replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka next season, but United balked at his PS34 million asking price.
And now, according to The Mirror, Diogo Dalot’s outstanding form during the summer and pre-season has swayed United’s mind even more.
Manchester United’s pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier has apparently come to an end. Dalot spent last season on loan at AC Milan, and it appeared that he may return to the San Siro with his chances at United limited.
His re-emergence in his position, however, has caught the attention of his parent club, and there is a feeling that Dalot can give back-up instead.
Dalot’s form has impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since his return to United, and the Portugal international scored in United’s 4-0 triumph over Everton.
Diogo Dalot’s (left) pre-season and Euro 2020 performances indicate that he will be a backup. Milan, meantime, have abandoned their pursuit of the brilliant teenager after United reportedly wanted a PS4 million loan fee.
Trippier expressed interest in returning to England last month, according to Sportsmail, and his future remains uncertain.
This is because Arsenal is rumoured to have considered making their own bid this summer, owing to Hector Bellerin’s rumored impending exit.
According to The Sun, Diego Simeone wants Atletico to give Trippier a new deal to ward off possible bidders, but the full defender might still be on the move soon.
After the additions of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to be pleased with his transfer business so far this summer. Nevertheless, United’s failure to sign Trippier could mean the end of their business in this window.
Solskjaer is said to be thrilled with his new signings, with Sancho training for the first time and Varane set to sign his contract soon.
Sancho joined United for PS73 million from Borussia Dortmund three weeks ago and then went on holiday following England’s Euro 2020 campaign.
Now back in England, the star striker was all smiles as he worked out on an exercise bike in the gym before returning to the pitch for more conditioning drills.
Jadon Sancho, the PS73 million signing from Borussia Dortmund, returned to training on Monday, and Raphael Varane is expected to join him shortly after his PS42 million transition from Real Madrid.
The agreement was finalized a fortnight ago, but the defender was placed in quarantine.
He posted images of himself working out in his back garden on social media, and he is claimed to be determined to get off to a fast start at his new club.
Varane and Sancho are both slated to start United’s Premier League opener against Leeds United on Saturday.
