Manchester United And Arsenal Are Set To Compete For Corentin Tolisso Of Bayern Munich

According to rumors, Manchester United and Arsenal are likely to compete for the signing of Bayern Munich and France midfielder Corentin Tolisso.
After being signed with much fanfare for PS38 million from Lyon in 2017, the Frenchman, who was a member of Didier Deschamps Euro 2020 squad, is likely to quit the German giants.
Tolisso, 26, has one year left on his contract, and Bayern is willing to sell him for roughly PS8.5 million to recuperate some value and get his salaries off their books, according to Bild.
Manchester United and Arsenal are likely to compete for the signing of midfielder Corentin Tolisso. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (left) may be planning for life beyond Paul Pogba (right) at Old Trafford. Incoming Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann is keen to bring in midfielder Marcel Sabitzer from his former side RB Leipzig, but may have to sell in order to make the deal happen.
Bayern first set a PS17 million price tag on Tolisso, but after receiving no proposals at that level, they have adjusted their expectations.
The availability of Tolisso has apparently piqued the interest of Old Trafford and the Emirates, as well as a number of other teams.
Mikel Arteta (left) is desperate to acquire a midfield partner for Thomas Partey (right). Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had a solid transfer window, bringing in both Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane as priorities to patch vulnerabilities in defence and attack.
But United manager Jose Mourinho is also being pragmatic, looking for a replacement for Paul Pogba, who could leave Old Trafford for a fee this summer or on a free transfer next year.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, for one, has overseen a massive summer buying binge, bringing in defender Ben White, midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, and left-back Nuno Tavares.
Tolisso (left) played three times for France in Didier Deschamp’s Euro 2020 squad. But, Arteta’s revamp is far from complete, and his desire to acquire a complementing midfield partner for Thomas Partey is well-known, despite Granit Xhaka’s decision to stay at Arsenal.
Tolisso has had a difficult time since joining Bayern, suffering a cruciate ligament injury in his second season.
Despite his considerable potential, he has only made 57 league matches in four seasons in Germany.
Tolisso is apparently garnering interest from West Ham and Juventus, in addition to United and Arsenal.
