What Did Chelsea Get For Lukaku

Chelsea has completed the re-signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for a price of roughly PS97.5 million.
The Belgian superstar is one of the best forwards in the game, and he has the potential to turn Thomas Tuchel’s side into serious title challengers this season.
Lukaku, on the other hand, had a less-than-successful tenure at Chelsea Bridge, where he struggled to make an impact.
Lukaku joined Chelsea in 2011 for a rumoured fee of PS10 million (plus PS17 million in add-ons), although he only made 10 Premier League appearances.
He was loaned to West Bromwich Albion in 2012-13 and then to Everton in 2013-14.
In 2014, Chelsea sold the Belgian to Everton for PS28 million, earning him the club’s most expensive player at the moment.
Romelu Lukaku arrived to Inter Milan after a successful period at Everton and Manchester United, where he eventually established himself as one of the top attackers in the world.

Some Chelsea fans see the 28-year-old striker as a logical successor to Didier Drogba, and he may be the missing piece in Thomas Tuchel’s great squad.
While Chelsea is well-stocked in almost every aspect, Timo Werner’s form and a lack of a clinical finisher prompted the club to look for a top striker in current transfer window.
Chelsea were connected with a big-money bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but with his price tag rumored to be over PS175 million, they decided to go after Lukaku instead, and ended up signing him for considerably more than they sold him for in 2014.
Lukaku, who was sold to Chelsea for just under PS30 million in 2014, has returned as a superstar and will be expected to score goals in the 2021-22 Premier League season.
