Whatsapp Will Now Allow You To Transfer Chats From Your Iphone To Your Android Device

It’s about time WhatsApp allowed you to transfer chats from your iPhone to your Android device.
WhatsApp is now allowing you to transfer your WhatsApp chat history from an iPhone to an Android phone.
We’ve been hearing rumors about an iOS-Android migration tool coming to WhatsApp since April, but the Facebook-owned company has yet to confirm it until yesterday.
But, we now have official confirmation that the feature exists and will be available first on Samsung’s newest foldables.
Anyone migrating from iOS to Android will be able to carry their WhatsApp data, including chats and media, to a Galaxy smartphone, according to Samsung’s announcement at the Galaxy Unpacked event yesterday.
“For the first time on any Android smartphone, you can safely transfer your WhatsApp experience — including your conversations and photographs — from your old iPhone to your new Galaxy smartphone,” Samsung said in a demo.
According to The Verge, WhatsApp has confirmed that the new migration tool would allow data transfers from iOS to the Samsung Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3.
It will also be available “in the coming weeks” on other Samsung devices running Android 10 or higher. WhatsApp has not stated when the feature will be available on other Android phones.
A Lightning to USB-C connector is required to transfer WhatsApp data from an iPhone to a Samsung phone.
Note that the new transfer tool will not merge two different WhatsApp backups (one on Google Drive and one on iCloud).
Instead, when you transfer your WhatsApp data to an Android phone and then back it up, the new backup will replace the previous Android backup.
While we don’t know when the “Move conversations to Android” functionality will be available for non-Galaxy phones, it could debut alongside Google’s new “Switch to Android” app for iOS.
