Barcelona target Bernardo Silva should stay at Manchester City, says Sport

According to a recent report, Barcelona is interested in signing Manchester City star Bernardo Silva next summer. The Catalan giants are reportedly planning a second bid for the Manchester City winger after failing to sign him earlier this year.

Silva’s Remarkable Form at Manchester City
Silva had a fantastic season at the Etihad Stadium recently, putting in a string of crucial performances in the final third to help Manchester City win another Premier League title. In the previous season, the 28-year-old scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 50 matches for his current club on all fronts.
The Portugal international performed admirably on the attacking end of the pitch, averaging 1.3 shots, 1.7 key passes, and 1.5 per game in Premier League football. He was even neat when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his league football pass completion rate of 89.6%.

The Etihad Stadium
Can Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, afford to lose Silva next summer?
Silva is a capable dribbler with the ball at his feet, with the vision to make a decisive pass on the attacking end of the field. The Portuguese sensation can hit the ball well from long range and is difficult to stop when he is in full swing towards the opposing penalty box.

Silva has established himself as one of the most valuable members of Pep Guardiola’s squad due to his versatility in the opposition half. He is primarily a right-sided wide player, but he can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or a left-winger if his manager requests it.
At 28, the Lisboa-born talent is currently playing some of his best football of his career, and Manchester City simply cannot afford to let him go at the end of the season, despite Barcelona’s recent interest, as he has become an indispensable member of Guardiola’s first XI.
His contract with the Manchester club will expire in the summer of 2025. As a result, Guardiola should consider signing Silva to a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portuguese wing wizard has the potential to improve even further in the coming seasons. As a result, Man City should consider retaining his services in the long run.
